Don't live Broken. Live strong.
When I first got started in ministry I thought it wasn't okay to be broken. I thought I had to keep it all together. Do know how hard that is!? It's CRAZY hard. For a long time I kept my struggles to myself. Which isn't healthy. I thought it wasn't okay to be broken. But you know the truth is that it is okay TO BE BROKEN. Yep, you heard me right. It's okay to be broken. Let me explain. IT IS NOT OKAY TO LIVE A LIFE OF BROKENNESS. It's not healthy. Reality is that we will be broken at times. We need to embraces it and know that God can make us even stronger and even better Christians. We can even learn from our brokenness. We just need to run to God. It is not okay when you're broken that you run to other things instead of God. Like I said earlier, it isn't healthy. When I am broken my first thought is go watch a movie. Escape from what is hurting. I'm being honest with y'all. I watch movies to run away from my brokenness. As a leader I have learned that my brokenness will hold me back from helping others if I don't surrender my hurts to God.
Look at it like this...
It's hard for someone with both their hands broken to help someone else who has a broken leg.
The point
God knows we are human. And we have hurts. As leaders our first response to brokenness should be running to God. This has been a BIG lesson for me to learn. Now that I'm older I run to God when I'm weak, broken, sad, excetera. God has a way of turning our brokenness into strength. As a youth leader I want to teach my students to run to God no matter what happens and that He has their best interest at heart.
I hope this helped someone.
Just know you don't have to live broken. You can live strong.
Love,
