Beautiful Grace
It can be hard at times to give people grace. But as Christians we should live a life of grace. The one story that always comes to mind when I think about grace is in John 8:1-11
But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. At dawn He appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around Him, and He sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the law of Moses commanded us to stone such a woman. Now what do you have to say?" They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing Him. But Jesus bent down started to write on the ground with His finger. When they kept on questioning Him, He straightened up and said "If any of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." Again He stooped and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" "No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."
Wow... I mean. Wow. Grace at its finest.
More often then not we (Christians) are more like the teachers of the law and pharisees. We are to busy trying to point out everyone else's sin instead of worrying about our own. What I'd like to know is how the ones who brought the woman to Jesus knew where to find her... So for those of us who are quick to judge and point out everyone else's sin remember just because someone else sins different then YOU doesn't make you any better.
My favorite part of that verse is "with the woman still standing there". She didn't leave! She didn't run away! She stayed. I believe it's cause she was touched by this act of grace. Back then People would be stoned to death for thing like that.
Isn't Jesus awesome in His ways of showing us how to live. A lifestyle of Grace is so beautiful.
I want y'all to walk away knowing that we are ALL sinners SAVED by GRACE. And also know that Grace does not justify sinning.
I hope y'all got something out of this.
Love,
